This week, Nintendo finally announced that the Wii would be receiving a price cut to 199 dollars, which means that all the current-generation consoles are now cheaper than in August. It's a good sign for the gaming industry in the run up to Christmas, but surely not the only news you need to take into account this week.

Monday was a day of confirmations. On the one hand, BioShock 2 was confirmed by 2K as arriving in February 2010, while Blizzard told us what we already know, namely that the long development time and delays were a way of creating truly great experiences, like Diablo III and Starcraft II.

On Tuesday, Relic announced that Dawn of War II was set to get more Warhammer 40,000 goodness, with Chaos Rising introducing the Chaos Marines and a full, new campaign of 20 missions. Meanwhile, the guys at Infinity Ward said that Modern Warfare 3 was not in any way in development.

Wednesday was a day of oddities, as Microsoft priced the Sergeant Johnson DLC for Halo 3: ODST, which was part of the pre-order package, at close to 1,200 dollars. Another oddity was a leaked document that detailed how SEGA and Sony could collaborate on bringing Dreamcast games to the PlayStation 3.

Thursday, we talked about innovative marketing for Need for Speed: Shift, which is being advertised by Electronic Arts through a series of Twitter challenges that might bring on a BMW M3. Meanwhile, Sony confirmed at the Tokyo Game Show that it had sold no less than one million PS3 Slims until that moment.

On Friday, the potential sales of Madden NFL 10 got a boost with the AFL Legacy Pack being released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and in the PlayStation Store, while Valve announced an appeal against the decision to ban Left 4 Dead 2 in Australia.

Oh, and in case this is not enough news for you, we also have a review of SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection up on the site, and a closer look at Altered Beast, which can be played as part of it.
