This time it's for sure

Fable II was one of the most hyped up titles that were released before the 2008 holiday season. This was due to the fact that one of the most eccentric games designers, Peter Molyneux, was behind it, and constantly praised the features it had. These comprise the massive variety of choices that the player can make, and the fact that the AI is very well built, providing them with a great experience.

However, it seems that the initial game wasn't enough, as Lionhead, the studio behind this very title, has announced some time ago that it will release a new island, Knothole, via DLC (Downloadable Content), which players can explore and where they can take part in in quests and missions.

Although it was slated for a release before the winter holidays, it seems that the two teams from Lionhead and Microsoft didn't work so fast, and the whole DLC needed to be postponed until a later date. Now, it seems that Knothole Island is perfect for visiting, as Microsoft has announced that players will be able to download it from the Xbox Live Marketplace on January 13. It will be available for just 800 MS Points, and will offer new adventures where gamers can join in.

Furthermore, as a special offer, users who don't want to download this DLC will be permitted to download a batch of free content, consisting of a “handful of gifts from the fine people of Knothole Island,” such as some Knight's Boots, Assassin's Gloves, a special Weight Loss Potion, a collectible silver book, and more. This update is also bound to give them the chance to explore Knothole Island, provided they play in co-op mode with a friend who has already bought the DLC.

This does look like a pretty consistent offering, one that is sure to make a lot of Fable II owners interested. Additionally, a special premium theme branded with Knothole Island will be available for download for 250 MS Points, so that users can enjoy the complete experience on their consoles.
