Computer maker Asus has just confirmed that it would bring to the market in the UK two of its latest products that run under Google's Android operating system, namely the Eee Pad Slider and the 3G Transformer.

The announcement was made via the company's Facebook page, but specific info on the release date or availability were not unveiled for the time being.

“Eee Pad Slider coming to the UK in Aug, as is the 3G Transformer. We’ll provide specific details on where to buy and exact date of availability nearer the time. Thank you for being so patient,” the company announced.

The two devices were unveiled to the world back in January during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and Asus promised that they would be released by May, but it seems that they were delayed a little.

However, both of these Android-based devices should be released in the UK in August, hopefully closer to the beginning of the month, and not towards its end.

While there are no details available on the price tag at which the new Eee Pad Slider might be launched on the UK market, we should note that previous rumors on it suggested that it might go for anything between $499 and $799.

The device comes with a 10.1 inch touchscreen display, as well as with an Nvidia Tegra 2 application processor packed inside.

Apparently, the CPU is clocked in at 1.2GHz, and not at 1GHz, as Nvidia launched it on the market in the first place.

Other specs of this device would include a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Google's Honeycomb operating system, and the usual set of ports and connectivity options that one would find in today's Android tablet PCs.

The Eee Pad Transformer comes with similar specifications, but lacks the slide-out QWERTY, which was replaced by a keyboard dock, which is being sold separately, and which packs its own battery.

Recently, the Asus Eee Pad Slider was spotted on the market in Germany as well, listed on Amazon.de, but without a price tag attached to it.
