DS and PSP owners are sure to get the tingles knowing that Electronic Arts has signed with 10TACLE Sudios to handle the distribution of Boulder Dash-Rocks! across Europe this holiday season. No actually, owners of the two handhelds will be happy just to know that the game launches for the DS in November this year for the DS and in Q1 2008 for the PSP. Sorry owners of Sony handhelds, you're just not that important...

Kidding of course. I guess they know better what fuss it is to launch a game across several platforms, each with its own "particular pleasures and pains," as Dan Houser (Rockstar's Creative VP) said once. Anyway, under the terms of the agreement, EA will be handling the distribution of Boulder Dash-Rocks!, while 10TACLE Studios AG will be responsible for marketing and PR activities, according to the official announcement.

J?rg Rohrer, Business Development Director at Electronic Arts Germany on the new edition of the famous diamond hunt, "We are incredibly pleased with the new approach the 10TACLE STUDIOS has taken on the classic Boulder Dash brand. The game has been immensely popular throughout the years and offers an enormous amount of variety for a fun, casual digital gaming experience."

10TACLE Studios AG Marketing & Sales Director, Frank Holz stated: "With Boulder Dash-ROCKS! we are continuing our thoroughly positive partnership with Electronic Arts in Europe. We are extremely pleased with the seal of quality this cooperation represents for us and are looking forward to a successful holiday season release."

Boulder Dash-Rocks! is a tricky puzzle demanding great dexterity from the player. Having debuted on primitive systems (well, now we can say they're primitive) such as the old GameBoy (1989), Boulder Dash is now back on a Nintendo handheld, looking better than ever and taking full advantage of the DS' touchscreen abilities.

Naturally, the PSP version of the game will have some different features, as Sony's platform presents other advantages. For example, it has been confirmed that two new game modes have been custom designed for each of the two platforms.

OK then, just remember that the DS is getting Boulder Dash-Rocks! launches this November for the DS, while owners of Sony handhelds are compelled to watch their rivals have fun playing the popular title until Q1 08.
