500,000-800,000 by the end of the year

Do you know who Larry Probts is? According to him, Sony delivered only 200,000 PS3s to US retailers. I incline to believe him as he is the CEO of the world's largest video game publisher, Electronic Arts. This is almost half of Sony's initial shipment target of 400,000 units.

Probts made this statement in the Reuters Media Summit in New York, adding that EA has set a lower bar for initial PS3 shipments but they were surprised by Sony. He completed his statement saying that he expects Sony to ship 500,000 to 800,000 units by the end of the year in the U.S.

The basic configuration of the PS3 has a 20GB internal hard drive. The top version of the PS3 comes with an internal 60GB Serial ATA 2.5" hard drive, IEEE 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi connectivity and multiple flash memory card readers. The first to experience the PlayStation 3 were the Japanese, as the PS3 launch in their country took place on November 11. Americans got their hands on it on November 17, but until then, there a lot of shocking PS3 related events.

First of all, people lined up two weeks in advance to be sure that they will get to buy a PS3. This is normal you might say, but keep in mind that a moronic lunatic came and started to shoot at some defenseless campers. After a police investigation, he was arrested. This is but one PS3 related incident but you would be amazed as to what length people will go to get a Sony next-gen. Some would even give up their babies for a few days.
