Owners of a mobile phone running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system have now yet another application to enjoy on their devices, namely DroppedBoxx. As its name suggests, the new mobile client has been designed to bring Dropbox to the operating system, offering users the possibility to easily sync and share files between computers and their mobile phones.

The new mobile Dropbox client has been developed by Damian Karzon, and announced in a post over at XDA-developers forums. Although it is only an early flavor, DroppedBoxx comes with appealing features for Windows Mobile phone users, and can prove a nice option beside the CloudFiles application from Ruttensoft. The beta DroppedBoxx 0.4.1 is now available as a free download, even if it does not include a full set of features at the moment.

The DroppedBoxx 0.4.1 application sports features like: - Login - Browse Dropbox files and folders - Download Files - Download then email - Upload files - Take photo and upload - Delete Dropbox Files.

According to its developer, the application should soon include a nice range of other functionalities, including Copy/move files around dropbox, syncing of folders, Record audio and upload, the creation of new folders, the display of account usage, or an option to track application (self) usage. It is still unknown when exactly these features are set to be included in the package, but it might not be too long before they arrive, that's for sure.

Since Dropbox is seen as one of the nicest manners in which one can sync and share files between desktop PCs and mobile phones, a trend of having the service available on more smartphone operating system recently emerged. Dropbox is working on the delivery of an official client for Android, following the release of an iPhone solution, while other developers focused on providing applications for Windows Mobile, and DroppedBoxx is the result of such an attempt.
