A new version of the Opera Mini 6 browser is now available for download for BlackBerry smartphones, which a series of new features and enhancements.

According to the Norwegian software giant, the new flavor of the mobile application comes to devices with a series of fixes related to typing is specific textfields, or to the URL Auto-completion feature.

Moreover, the company announced that these enhancements were released for all BlackBerry devices out there.

The release notes for the new Opera Mini 6 for BlackBerry version include:

- Several issues when typing in a textfield have been fixed. - Performance when editing large text areas has been improved. - URL Auto-completion bug fixes. - Trackball up and down now jumps to the beginning and end of text in a single line text field.

As soon as they download and install the new version of the application, users should enjoy a better experience on their devices, Opera notes.

“The improved text-field handeling combined with a few bugfixes will greatly improve your Opera Mini experience on Blackberry devices,” the company states in a blog post.

At the same time, Opera asks users willing to provide it with feedback on the newly updated version of the application to head over to the Opera Mini forums for that.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Opera Mini is currently the most popular mobile browser in the world.

The application enjoys a number of more than 100 million users, and is already present on a large variety of devices, including smartphones and feature phones.

It can deliver great performance levels to all users, courtesy of the compression technology that Opera packed it with, through which web pages are compressed by up to 90 percent before being sent to users' handsets.
