14 DAY TRIAL // Today, Opera Software has announced that its Opera Mini browser is enjoying a number of more that 100 million users all around the world, a number that has been steadily increasing during the past few years.
However, the growth has accelerated during the past several months, and the fact that the total number on Opera Mini users doubled since a year ago is a proof of that.
The Opera Mini mobile browser is available at the moment on a number of more than 3,000 different phone models, including basic feature phones and high-end smartphones.
“Opera Software today tinkered in its giant statistics machine and found that Opera Mini reached 100 million monthly users in March and two billion daily page views – new peaks for the world’s most used mobile browser,” the company notes.
“The number of monthly Opera Mini users across the globe has grown by 11 million since February 2011 and doubled from the 50 million mark celebrated in February 2010,” Opera continues.
This is the second time the company announces the reach of the 100 million mobile users mark, but, unlike the first time, the number includes only Opera Mini users this time.
Previously, the company announced that the combined user base for its two popular mobile browsers, namely Opera Mini and Opera Mobile, topped the 100 million users mark only a few months ago.
“Opera Mini’s twin March milestone, two billion daily page views, already doubles the one billion daily page views achieved in July 2010,” the company also announced.
Opera Mini was packed with a unique technology that enables it to compress the web pages by up to 90 percent, which results in both increased speeds when browsing on the Internet, as well as in lower costs.
The mobile browser comes with a wide range of features that are present on the desktop flavor of company's application, such as tabbed browsing, password manager, bookmarks and Speed Dial.
