We've talked a bit yesterday about AMD's claims regarding the stability of their drivers, and now, the company offers all Radeon GPU owners out there yet another chance to test out these claims for themselves, by making public their latest Catalyst drivers, version 10.12. The upgraded software works with just about all Radeons graphics cards out there, ranging from ATI Radeon HD 2400 Series up to AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series for desktops (and most likely, the software suite will also support the Radeon HD 6900 series, once it gets released in the very near future), ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 Series up to ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series for notebooks, as well as AMD FireStream products and various AMD chipsets out there.

So, if you're the owner of one of the aforementioned hardware items, you can find the new drivers right here, on Softpedia, whether your machine is running Windows XP (download here), Windows XP x64 (download here), Windows Vista/7 (download here) or Windows Vista/7 x64 (download here).

The AMD Catalyst 10.12 Driver release brings plenty of interesting novelties, including support for DivX on the AMD Radeon 6800 Series, support for OpenGL 4.1, as well as an AMD Stream 2.3 SDK release with plenty of novelties worth checking out (see the complete driver release notes if you wish to find out more info on this topic).

The new driver also brings about plenty of fixes for all the supported operating systems, especially in Windows 7, but most of these improvements seem to address certain bugs affecting only specific game titles or application (the one exception is DivX playback, interlaced Dicx content no longer intermittently showing corruption after the installation of the new drivers).

Unfortunately, some issues still remain, such as the fact that video settings might not be retained after enabling / disabling Crossfire, Menu and Action bar borders may shimmer occasionally when MLAA is enabled in World of Warcraft, while 8X Anti Aliasing may not be available in certain 3D applications.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether these new drivers will actually deliver a seriously enhanced experience, so if you happen to be a Radeon owner and you're willing to share your experience regarding the Catalyst 10.12 drivers with us, please, don't hesitate to use the comments section below.
