There was a time when the "Snake" game was almost instantly associated with Nokia mobile phones. With the launch of "Snakes Subsonic" on the N-Gage platform, the classic game receives a full makeover and takes a giant leap into the demands regarding what mobile gameplay stands for at this time.

The major upgrade that this old concept receives is the 3D action that looks more real and considerably more entertaining than it has ever been. In fact, it holds little similarities with the classic game, other than that of the "snake" concept of slithering through the phone's screen in order to win special treats.

The way this happens is much more evolved than ever before. The 3D graphics are almost mesmerizing, with even more elements and challenges to watch out for. The puzzle game comes with vivid, appealing colors which are meant to make it more fun than ever, only that this time it uses subsonic speed.

"Snakes Subsonic delivers the next evolution in mobile puzzle games", considers Dr Mark Ollila, Director of Technology and Strategy and Head of Games Publishing, Nokia. "It's an exciting combination of accessible gameplay fused with stylized presentation. The result is a rollercoaster ride in puzzle solving unlike anything on mobile", he further added.

There are four different elemental zones to go through, including Earth, Air, Water and Fire, which manage to bring some diversity during gameplay and add some extra thrill. There are 40 levels to enjoy and race through multi-leveled surfaces, including verticals, loops, dips and tunnels. The user also has to find switches to open doors and eventually complete even the most complex puzzles.

Once these levels are mastered, 20 more are available for download from the N-Gage platform. Moreover, the players also have the chance of competing against people around the world and see their results on an online board.
