Players can try to stay neutral or embrace both sides of the Force

Gamers who have managed to already consume all the class specific content delivered by the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic can look forward to more from developer BioWare in the coming months and should be careful about the choices that they have already made.

Gabe Amatangelo, who is the leading designer working on PVP, Operations and Flashpoint development, has told games.on.net that, “That’s a big thing and it’s something that will certainly, certainly be used in future story direction. The decisions you make really matter, even the small ones.”

All the classes have clear choices that lead them down the Light or Dark paths, but BioWare has also allowed them to try and stay neutral and those choices will be reflected in how the character is treated in new content.

The developer added, “Some of the Class dialog that you’re going to see will be based on your personal choices. The Class story arcs will be continued with future updates, future content packs and we’ll certainly be supporting both threads. Expect more, and expect it sooner than later.”

When Star Wars: The Old Republic was in development, BioWare stated that the game would offer the same amount of content as five or six single-player installments of the Knights of the Old Republic series.

The developers see all the included classes as important and will treat them equally when it comes to future content.

At the moment BioWare is working on the big patch 1.2 for the game, which is supposed to fix the major problems that the community has noticed since the MMO was launched while also adding a number of mechanics, including ones which allow for powers to be shared between character classes.

Electronic Arts has stated that the game has managed to sell more than 2 million copies since its December 2011 launch and the player base is holding steady at about 1.5 million players.
