After Grammy performance, singer addresses new controversy

If you're among those people who think Chris Brown did not deserve to be up on the stage at the Grammys 2012, let alone perform twice during the course of the same evening and get a standing ovation for it, he has a message for you.

Hate all you want but, at the end of the day, he is the one looking at a Grammy award in his room, not you, he writes on his Twitter page.

As we also informed you on Monday, Chris took to the stage over the weekend twice, and each time he was welcomed with wild applause and a standing ovation.

He also won a Grammy for his album “F.A.M.E,” which was named Best R&B Album.

However, it was his performances that got people talking, with many, including country singer Miranda Lambert, saying he did not deserve so much attention – at least, not after he beat up his girlfriend, Rihanna, 3 years ago.

Taking to his Twitter page, Chris has a very clear message for his haters.

“Hate all u want becuz I got a Grammy now! That's the ultimate [expletive] off!,” he wrote on his page.

Later on, he returned on the social networking website to say that, even so, he has nothing against haters. As they say, even bad publicity is better than no publicity at all.

“Individuality is key... Fresh is a way of life.... When people constantly bring up your name(good/bad) thank them! ” he wrote.

“Understanding possibilities are endless once u put forth the effort with confidence! BE FREE .... Chris Brown,” he added even later.

This new controversy was generated, as we also informed you yesterday, by a Twitter trend that had many of his female fans proclaim “I'd let Chris Brown beat / punch me in the face,” after his spectacular performances.

The response to criticism for this trend is now found under the hashtag #RIPChrisBrown, where RIP doesn't stand for Rest in Peace, but for Really Inspirational Person.
