With official confirmation yet to come, reports continue pouring in about Cheryl Cole’s imminent move to the US to be a judge on the US version of X Factor and, at the same time, launch her pop career. Both endeavors are likely to fail.

Sharon Osbourne, who was a judge both on the British version of X Factor and on America’s Got Talent, says it takes more than Bambi eyes and good looks to launch a career in the US.

Because of this, Cheryl’s attempts at becoming a household name will probably fail, Osbourne says in a recent interview cited by DigitalSpy, amidst speculation that Cole has already been offered £3 million to be a judge on X Factor.

At the same time, Nicole Scherzinger is also reportedly being courted by producers for a position as judge on Simon Cowell’s brand new show – and Sharon believes Nicole is a more appropriate choice.

“Cheryl’s perfect for England. She’s the nation’s sweetheart and they absolutely love her. But over here [in the US] it’s Nicole’s town,” Mrs. Osbourne says.

“You have to think of the audience and most of them would never have heard of Girls Aloud,” she adds. It takes a lot of time to make a name in the US, and it’s absurd of Cheryl to assume she can just drop by and instant success is guaranteed.

“Nicole’s great TV,” Sharon continues, “has a huge following here in the States and people absolutely love her. Plus she’s beautiful and talented.”

If one were to be out to read into this, one could say that Sharon is saying that, unlike Nicole, Cheryl is not “beautiful and talented” and doesn’t make for an entertaining television star.

“It takes a long time to make it in the States because it’s so huge. I think she’s made the right decision to move out here. She couldn’t just come over and do a show then pootle off,” Sharon adds.

And, just to make sure Cheryl won’t take this the wrong way, Sharon adds, “Cheryl reminds me of Bambi. She’s got these big, brown, beautiful eyes and you just want to stroke her.”
