Fans believing Cheryl Cole crossed the line on this season of X Factor (one way or another) and wishing she’d just go away should breathe easy: reports say she’s thinking of dropping out of the show after this season and moving to the US

Sources close to the singer and television personality are saying for the Daily Mail that a combination of factors has contributed to Cheryl’s decision – which hasn’t been that easy, understandably.

Aside from the fact that her calls on this season of the show have been constantly questions and criticized, voices have been getting increasingly loud online asking producers to have her axed.

Then, there’s the question of her music career, which she’s still trying to launch in the US, the Daily Mail says. Plus, her feud with co-judges Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue haven’t been getting any better.

“Cheryl Cole is on the verge of quitting The X Factor after this series to concentrate on her music career, it is thought,” the Mail says citing sources close to the star.

“The 27-year-old, who has come under attack from fans and finalists this series, is on the brink of launching her pop career in the US which would mean spending more time than ever across the Atlantic, trying to break the US market,” says the same report.

The fact that she’s about to get a very lucrative record deal in the US and that Simon Cowell is backing her up for a position as a judge on the US version of X Factor have also contributed to Cheryl’s decision to leave the UK.

“Cheryl is hot property and breaking America is the next obvious step in her career, whether she does The X Factor [the US version] or not,” a source close to the star reveals for the aforementioned publication.

When asked about the next season of X Factor, the same source says, “We have not yet started talking about the next series.”
