14 DAY TRIAL // Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the recently announced first-person shooter from Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, doesn't have any lead platform, at least according to the community manager of the first studio.
Activision waited quite some time before officially confirming the existence of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, releasing the first official gameplay trailer earlier this week.
Now, the community strategist of Infinity Ward, the studio behind the whole Call of Duty franchise and the co-developer of Modern Warfare 3, alongside Sledgehammer Games, has confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 isn't being developed primarily for a specific platform.
Talking on his Twitter account, Robert Bowling said that, "We don't have lead platforms, we develop each version alongside each other. Xbox 360 is running at same as PS3."
The PC version will see some "unique optimizations," but the game will be locked at 60 FPS, meaning that, while it can't go under that framerate, it will be able to go above, depending on your PC configuration.
Modern Warfare 3 also received a batch of three screenshots, showcasing some of the scenes we already saw in the trailer released at the beginning of the week.
The images depict locations like London or New York, as well as an underwater warfare scene, with a soldier trying to infiltrate a submarine.
Modern Warfare 3, according to its publisher, Activision, is set to once again push the first-person shooter genre forward.
"From the innovative gameplay, to the cinematic intensity, to the most advanced multiplayer ever, Modern Warfare 3 will raise the bar for this already incredible franchise," said Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to appear for platforms like the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, while versions for the Nintendo Wii or DS are being rumored.
Expect more details about this massive game at next month's E3 conference in Los Angeles, but, until then, check out the three screenshots below.
