Fans patiently waiting for a new Britney Spears album nearly had a heart attack when they heard producer Rusko’s house burned down completely, destroying all her demos. Luckily, they’ve been saved.

Rusko himself broke the news that his house burned down, reportedly after his car exploded in the garage, setting fire to the whole place.

By the time firefighters got there, there was little left to save, reports in the US media say. It’s no wonder then that rumor got out that Britney’s demos – for her upcoming album – had also been destroyed.

Fortunately for everybody concerned, Rusko managed to save his hard drives from the fire, which means Britney’s new music is safe, AceShowbiz reports.

“Britney Spears reportedly came close to lose the songs she recorded with Rusko when the producer’s house, which has a studio attached in it, was caught in fire,” the e-zine writes.

“My house!!! Not a joke. Thank God I grabbed my hard drives,” Rusko tweeted after he got out. He even uploaded a picture of his scorched house – or what still remained of it.

“We’re all safe thank the lord,” he added. This also includes Britney’s demos, which, contrary to reports, have not been lost forever. Spears’ manager also confirms the good news.

“More bull[expletive].... see who’s talking smack in this week’s BS report,” Adam Leber also tweeted. Not only is Britney’s album not derailed – it’s looking better by the day.

“Brit is recording a big big BIG new song on Friday with #MaxMartin [Max Martin] & @TheDrLuke [Dr. Like]. I’m pretty sure it’s a smash!” Leber also revealed on Twitter.

On the downside, still no word on how fans might get the chance to hear something from the new album, nor get the material from stores.

Producer Darkchild, who also collaborated with the pop star on it, once revealed that it would drop in a matter of “weeks.” That was back in August this year and the album still hasn’t seen the light of day – or gotten an official release date, for that matter.
