The long series of new details on the upcoming Nexus One by HTC (the first phone expected to land with Google's Android 2.1 operating system on board) continues today with news regarding a Bluetooth Desktop Dock for the handset. The device is said to arrive on the market as model CR B410, and has just received approval from FCC, as Engadget points out.

The Desktop Dock seems to be an interesting piece of hardware in itself, as it will come around with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR connectivity on board. The specs list of Nexus One already showed that it comes to the market with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR capabilities, as well as with a docking connector, and it remains to be seen why the dock also comes with Bluetooth connectivity options, since this was not a necessity.

Other than that, it seems that more is to be expected from the high-end device when it arrives on shelves. “The FCC test report also shows a configuration where the dock is tethered via an AV-jack to a DVD player to help pull your multimedia off the slate and into the living room,” the news site reports, and we might add that it sounds as appealing as it can be.

And since mobile phones are these days something more than just mobile phones, the images attached to this article will show you the Nexus One mounted in a car and used as a GPS device. The dashboard clip mount used with the mobile phone can also be viewed in one of the new images available. One thing that is certain here is that, since accessories for the phone already started to emerge, the launch date shouldn't be too far into the future either.

The Nexus One by HTC has been rumored earlier to be on its way to the market as soon as January 5 is here, and, while we took those first rumors with a grain of salt, the latest reports on the device seem to confirm the release date, as they point towards the sale January 5 launch day. There's only about a week left until then, so stay tuned to learn more on this.
