BlackBerry 10 and the Z10 have just been officially launched in Thailand, but the first smartphone powered by the new operating system is not yet available for purchase.

However, the Canadian handset maker has confirmed that the Z10 will be available to customers in Thailand by the end of the month. Potential customers will be able to purchase it from AIS, dtac, TrueMove and authorized retailers.

Moreover, the smartphone is expected to be available at the new BlackBerry Experience Center, which is located on the 2nd floor of Siam Center, for 20,900 baht ($710 / €555) outright.

Those who wish to pre-order the BlackBerry Z10 will be able to do so via the BlackBerry Experience Center beginning April 5.

It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone will be available in two colors, Black and White, and that it will come with Thai UI and input support.

Last but not least, BlackBerry has managed to bring a range of popular Thai apps to the new platform, including GMM Grammy Music Store, KantanaTV, Lakorn Online, Thai Airways, ThaiTV3, and Sanook.com.

As a refresher, BlackBerry Z10 comes equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone packs 16GB storage, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).

On the back, BlackBerry Z10 boasts an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front, there’s a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls.

The Z10 is the first full-touch smartphone powered by BlackBerry 10 OS and features a 4.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (768 x 1280 pixels) resolution.

“We are excited to announce that the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone is coming to Thailand. BlackBerry 10 offers a faster and smarter experience that continuously adapts to you. Every feature, every gesture, and every detail is designed to keep you moving,” said Benoit Nalin, country director for Thailand at BlackBerry.
