Research in Motion announced the budget-friendly BlackBerry Curve 9380 back in November. The phone is aimed at BlackBerry fans looking for an all-touch experience. In fact, the device is the cheaper version of the BlackBerry Torch 9860.

One month after its official release on the market, BlackBerry Curve 9380 makes its debut in Indonesia, one of the most prolific markets for RIM.

The sleek and stylish Curve 9380 is now available for purchase for 3,399,000 IDR (380 USD or 295 EUR) via authorized partners PT. Comtech Cellular, PT. Teletama Artha Mandiri and PT. Selular Media Infotama.

BlackBerry Curve 9380 is the first smartphone in the Curve series to feature a touch display. The phone comes with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 360 x 480 pixels resolution, as well as optical trackpad.

Powered by the BlackBerry 7 operating system, the Curve 9380 delivers a faster and richer user experience than other BlackBerry devices that run previous versions of the mobile platform.

In addition, the phone comes pre-loaded with a new browser that provides an enhanced and smoother web browsing experience. RIM also improved the popular universal search capability, which supports voice-activated search, so users can speak to begin searching for what they need.

Although the phone is equipped with a low-performance 800 MHz single core processor, the Curve 9380 integrates some of the latest mobile technologies available on the market, such as built-in support for Augmented Reality and NFC (Near Field Communications).

There’s also a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which features LED flash and video recording, as well as 512MB of RAM, 512MB storage and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The new BlackBerry Curve 9380 is sleek, easy-to-use and delivers a powerful social and multimedia experience. The vivid all-touch display is a first for the BlackBerry Curve family of smartphones, which is extremely popular in Indonesia,” said Gregory Wade, Regional Managing Director, East Asia at RIM.
