T-Mobile Germany, T-Mobile Austria and Research In Motion recently launched the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone, a sleek, elegant and performance-driven tool for mobile professionals.

The BlackBerry 8800, developed by RIM, is the first BlackBerry smartphone offered in Germany and Austria to feature a built-in GPS supporting a range of location-based services. T-Mobile customers will find the new BlackBerry smartphone especially beneficial when using T-Mobile's navigation solution, NaviGate, which can be downloaded from T-Mobile free of charge.

The BlackBerry 8800 is offered on T-Mobile's EDGE network for fast data access. T-Mobile Deutschland will make EDGE available across almost its entire network by the end of 2007.

The BlackBerry 8800 is the slimmest BlackBerry handset with a full QWERTZ keyboard. It features an intuitive trackball navigation system, high resolution display with large screen for ample workspace and comes in a premium finish, making it an appealing smartphone for the successful mobile professional.

Along with access to email with attachment viewing in such formats as JPEG, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint, phone, Internet, text messaging, organizer and corporate data applications, the BlackBerry 8800 includes multi-media features for playing videos and audio files.

The BlackBerry 8800 offers increased flexibility for T-Mobile customers, with advanced functions including voice-activated dialing and support for Bluetooth and access to a range of corporate applications including CRM, field service solutions and other corporate data systems.

The BlackBerry 8800 smartphone will be available from T-Mobile Germany from February 2007 and from T-Mobile Austria from March 2007.
