Windows Live for Windows Mobile is a Microsoft initiative announced concomitantly with the unveiling of Windows Mobile 6 operating system. According to the Redmond juggernaut, Windows Live for Windows Mobile will deliver a wide set of services reunited under the Windows Live umbrella brand. Email, IM and search have been adapted to function seamlessly with devices running Windows Mobile.

Microsoft revealed that Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Messenger, Live Search and Windows Live Spaces have been designed to tailor fit Windows Mobile. Users of Windows Mobile powered devices will be able to enjoy the functionally associated with Microsoft's instant messaging client, from the contact list, to emotions, all on the mobile phone. Additionally, Windows Liver for Windows Mobile will support recorded voice messages and even tabbed browsing, a feature absent from the Windows Live Messenger for PC.

"Microsoft's e-mail service for mobile devices allows consumers to manage their Windows Live Mail or Hotmail account while on the go. Using the power of Windows Mobile 6 software, consumers now get all the richness of HTML to view graphics, Web links and more in their e-mail messages. New e-mail technology sends new e-mail messages automatically to mobile devices, so customers can trust that their inbox is always up to date," explained Microsoft.

Additionally, via Windows Mobile, users will be able to access Microsoft's Live Search services. But Microsoft is also determined to increase the social dimension of Windows Mobile devices, with the introduction of Windows Live Spaces. Blogs, photo services and friend's space will only be a few keystrokes away.
