Good news for long time Beyond Good & Evil fans, as the high definition remake of the classic Ubisoft adventure game will finally be reaching the PlayStation 3 home console next week.

Beyond Good & Evil became an instant cult classic when it was released in 2003, providing a great mix of adventure gameplay with puzzle solving and platforming.

Now, Ubisoft decided, instead of confirming the oft rumored Beyond Good & Evil 2, to reveal a high definition remake of the original, with upgraded textures, enhanced graphics and smoother gameplay.

The game was already released earlier this year on the Xbox 360 consoles, through the Xbox Live Arcade online service, and is finally getting ready to be launched on the PlayStation 3, after being confirmed many months ago.

"The time has almost come for you to join Jade on her quest to uncover a planet-wide alien conspiracy," said Alex Monney, PR coordinator for Ubisoft. "For those of you that are new to Beyond Good & Evil, you will be able to partake in a hidden gem. For the veterans of the series, you’ll experience the best version of Beyond Good & Evil HD that we have to offer, including updated visuals and audio."

Beyond Good & Evil HD is expected arrive next Tuesday, June 28, for North American PlayStation Network users, and one day later, for European ones.

What's more, Ubisoft is also offering those who get Beyond Good & Evil HD in the first two weeks of launch two free PSN avatars, with the heroine of the title, Jade, and her uncle, Pey'j.

This remastered edition of Beyond Good & Evil will be available for purchase for just $9.99 next week.

We already reviewed the game on the Xbox 360 and highlighted that this is a great experience, not just for those that already played the first game, but also for those who didn't have a chance to jump into the Beyond Good & Evil experience until now.
