DICE has just released a brand new video detailing some of the core features of the upcoming Battlefield 4 first-person shooter, this time focusing on the Levolution mechanic from the multiplayer and the Commander Mode, which makes a big return from older titles.

Battlefield 4's online mode was heavily showcased at E3 2013 earlier this month, and now EA has posted a special video in which DICE General Manager Karl Magnus Troedsson talks about two core mechanics of the online experience: Levolution and Commander mode.

Levolution allows the multiplayer map to constantly evolve depending on the actions of the players, as whole games can be destroyed via special attacks.

Commander mode, on the other hand, is playable on a tablet or mobile device and allows players to admire the battle from a bird’s eye view and support the troops via air strikes and other such abilities.

Battlefield 4 is out in October for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and later this year for the PS4 and Xbox One next-gen versions.
