Ubisoft has presented more details about its upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Revelations title, and how the new hookblade item will help protagonist Ezio Auditore move faster in and around Constantinople, as well as aid him in combat by allowing him access to new fighting moves.

Revelations is set to answer many questions concerning the popular series from Ubisoft, as well as offer one last adventure starring the protagonist of the last two games, Ezio Auditore.

While the master assassins is showing his age, as we saw in the last few story trailers, he's still the cold blooded killer we know and fear, as seen in the more recent End of an Era video.

During the in-game years that have passed since 2010's Brotherhood, Ezio has picked up a few new tricks, according to Ubisoft's creative director, Alexandre Amancio, who detailed the special hookblade weapon that will make an appearance when Ezio arrives in Constantinople during his quest in Revelations.

"The hookblade is an Ottoman modification to the classic Hidden Blade that allows you expand navigation and combat options," Amancio said to CVG. "It improves flow by increasing Ezio's mobility. It enables free running to be more fluid, speeds it up and makes the overall navigation experience more fun."

"The hookblade itself is an eagle head whose beak creates a hook. This hooks up to elements in the environment and enables Ezio to propel himself (or someone else). It's a very dynamic and versatile weapon which definitively speeds up the free-running gameplay in the game."

Besides the hookblade, Ezio also gets access to a few new weapons, according to Amancio, as well as his ancestor, Altair.

"Ezio has access to a whole new set of weapons but his new weapon, the Hookblade, is his most useful. As for Altair, I cannot reveal the full scope of his involvement at the moment."

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is out on November 15, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and sometime in December, for the PC.
