Arctic Cooling, a company well-renowned for its high-performance low-noise custom cooling solutions, is getting ready to release a revised version of the Accelero Xtreme Plus which will be compatible (out of the box) with a wider range of graphics cards, including the Nvidia GTX 580 and the AMD Radeon HD 6970.

The new cooler will be named the Accelero Xtreme Plus II and, judging by the pictures provided, it doesn't seem to differ too much from its predecessor.

This means that Arctic Cooling has employed the same overall design which relies on three 92mm fans for dissipating the heat draw from the GPU and into an aluminum heatsink that covers the card attached to it.

All throughout this massive heatsink run five 6mm thick heat pipes that are connected to an all-copper base.

The base is surrounded by a mounting plate and this has been specially redesigned in order to allow the cooler to be installed on a wider variety of graphics cards without requiring any additional hardware to be purchased (as it was the case with the original version).

In addition to the changes brought to the mounting plate, the Accelero Xtreme Plus II will also be shipped with more VRM and memory heatsink designs, to fit all the graphics cards the cooler is compatible with.

Just as its predecessor, the Xtreme Plus II measures no less than 288mm, so users are advised to make sure they have enough room inside their systems before purchasing this cooler.

The three fans that Arctic Cooling has used for the Accelero Xtreme Plus II are PWM controller and their rotation speed is set between 900 and 2000 RPM.

Right now, we don't know when Arctic's Cooling new solution is available in the retail market, or how much it will end up costing. The previous Accelero Xtreme Plus was priced at $75.24. (via Expreview)
