Verizon Wireless debuts its first Anime Network for FiOS TV customers, which is now available on-demand. Anime Network is available on demand to FiOS TV customers for $6.99 a month.

Verizon's FiOS TV is an all-in-one home service (Internet, phone and television), that operates over a fiber-optic communications network, offering video on-demand content and interactive features, such as widgets and programming guide data.

The newly launched Anime Network offers subscribers at least 45 hours of original programming every month. The carrier stated that it planned to extend the programming period by adding new content every week.

“We always look for niche programming that will appeal to our FiOS TV customers, and the addition of the Anime Network will certainly help expand our VOD lineup,” said Terry Denson, vice president of content strategy and acquisition for Verizon

“With one of the largest VOD offerings in the industry, Verizon's FiOS TV customers have access to a variety of programming available at their fingertips,” VP Terry Denson added.

The anime channel offers customers a wide range of shows on demand, such as “High School of the Dead,” “Samurai Girls,” “Xam'd,” “Canaan,”, “Blue Drop,” “E's Otherwise,” “Kino's Journey,” “Glass Mask,” “Maria Holic” and “Legends of the Dark King.”

In this regard, Stacy Dodson, vice president of the Anime Network, said, “Anime Network is thrilled to bring our special brand of entertainment to the Verizon FiOS TV experience, giving our fans a chance to catch their favorite Anime Network shows on demand.”

“With the addition of FiOS TV, we are now available to over 43 million VOD-enabled households, and we look forward to working with Verizon in reaching even more viewers as part of their cutting-edge service,” continued Stacy Dodson.
