Report says Vanessa Paradis “forced” Johnny Depp to refuse doing a love scene with Angelina Jolie in “The Tourist”

As the release date for “The Tourist,” starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp, is drawing near, the blogosphere is ablaze with countless rumors. One of them says Vanessa Paradis, Depp’s longtime partner, had one scene cut from the film because she found offense with it.

Granted, all gossip lovers must know that rumors about Angelina trying to “steal” Johnny from Vanessa first started to circulate when confirmation came they were doing a movie together, production on it hadn’t even begun.

In time, they died down but, as a source cited by the Daily Mail reveals, never quite gone away completely. Apparently, Vanessa was terribly upset about one particular scene in the film and had it taken out.

The scene, says a reportedly well-placed “Hollywood insider,” should have shown the two leads in the shower. However, it was eventually cut out after Vanessa’s pleas with Johnny.

Admittedly, the moment she saw the script and the love scene, Vanessa told Johnny to quit the project because she could not stand to watch it on screen.

Since he wouldn’t agree, she kept pleading with him and eventually got to have the scene cut out.

“She put pressure on Johnny and finally he said he wanted the shower scene out. He told the producers it cheapened the movie and I am assured that his wishes are being honored,” the source dishes for the British tab.

“[Paradis] wanted him right out of the production. Angelina comes with a reputation. She stole Brad Pitt from Jennifer Aniston when they were shooting Mr. & Mrs. Smith together,” the same source explains.

“But he gave in over the shower scene. It would have been highly embarrassing for Vanessa. When Angelina learned he wanted it out, she wanted Johnny to reconsider, but he got his way,” dishes the spy.

A rep for Johnny Depp was not immediately available for comment on the reported love scene in the shower that got cut out in the editing room.

A spokesperson for Sony Pictures, on the other hand, was. “I have not heard that the scene was cut. I will have to look into it,” the rep says.
