The developers at CD Projekt RED have announced all the details linked to the launch of their role playing game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, talking about the differences between the three main editions of the game and about the various pre order bonuses.

The Retail Premium Edition of The Witcher 2 will be the package that all gamers who are interested in the game will be able to pick up in brick and mortar retail chains and get from online stores which deliver physical products.

It will include a copy of the game itself, a making of the game DVD feature, a soundtrack, the world map printed out, a game guide, the manual, a pamphlet, a coin and two papercraft figurines.

This version of the gamer will sell for the now usual 49.95 dollars on the PC platform.

The Collector's Edition will include everything that GameStop listed, with the highlights being a sculpture of the main character and an art book.

Gamers who don't like physical objects taking up space in their gaming rooms will be able to get a Digital Premium Edition which will have the same contents as the retail one, with the obvious difference being that all paper based content will have to be printed out by the gamer himself.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will also get pre order bonuses depending on the source of the purchase, with the specifics announced closer to the launch date.

Steam will be hosting an offer with the price of the game being reduced by 10 percent for all those who pre order.

Those who don't like Steam can pick up The Witcher 2 from GOG.com, which is also created by CD Projekt, without any DRM and with the addition of one of the following titles for free: Gothic 2 Gold, Realms of Arkania 1and 2, Realms of Arkania 3, Divine Divinity or Beyond Divinity.

The official launch date for The Witcher 2 is May 17.
