The Acer Iconia Tab A501 arrives on shelves with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core application processor, with each core clocked in at 1GHz, and with integrated GeForce GPU, which should result on support for high-definition video playback, as well as in fast browsing capabilities.

“Whether it's posting a birth announcement on Facebook or staying connected to the office via email, people are connecting more online and in a more personal way.”

The new device also comes to the market with HDMI port, full size USB 2.0 port, microUSB port, and with a microSD memory card slot so that users can expand the available internal memory. It also sports a built-in GPS receiver, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities.

On the back, the tablet PC was packed with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with HD video recording capabilities, complemented by a 2MP camera on the front with support for video calling on the go.
