Mobile phone carrier AT&T announced today that its AT&T U-verse Voice service had just reached new markets around the country, including parts of the Nashville-area and Middle Tennessee, which can now benefit from a next-generation digital voice service that comes over the AT&T U-verse Internet Protocol (IP) network.

The new AT&T U-verse Voice is available in the above-mentioned areas to all eligible U-verse TV customers, and is meant to bring together their home phone, wireless, broadband and TV services in a single bill. The new service comes to the Nashville-area, which saw AT&T U-verse launched in December last year, with a higher level of integration, convenience and control, AT&T states.

“The expansion of our IP-based services further demonstrates AT&T’s strong commitment to roll out new technology to Nashville area residents,” Gregg Morton, AT&T Tennessee president, says. “Our deployment of U-verse Voice is an integral part of the major investment that AT&T has delivered in Tennessee as a result of progressive reform legislation that was enacted by The Competitive Cable and Video Service Act of 2008, HB 1421, signed into law by Gov. Bredesen on May 15, 2008.”

As many of you might already know, AT&T U-verse Voice comes as a managed IP-based service that delivers to U-verse customers a great sound quality and reliability, along with high-end calling features, combining with existing AT&T U-verse TV, broadband and wireless services. Some of the features that the new service can provide include a single, combined voice mailbox for AT&T U-verse Voice and AT&T wireless messages, access to U-verse Central, an online voice mailbox, and others more. Two calling plans are available for users, U-verse Voice Unlimited, for $30 a month, and U-verse Voice 250, for $25 a month.

“AT&T U-verse Voice is one more way we’re making all of our services work together for you and connecting you to your world,” Bryan Klamer, general manager, Home Solutions for AT&T Tennessee, adds. “We are thrilled to offer this innovative service to Nashville customers and make the AT&T U-verse experience better once again. Just like U-verse TV has changed the way people watch television, U-verse Voice will change the way people use their home phone.”
