This week has been dominated by a lot of Halo: Reach play, which lead to four gaming diaries and to a review about the final game that Bungie has created in the well known Xbox 360 exclusive series.

But we also found the time for a Quick Look at Civilization V, the addictive turn based experience from Firaxis and Sid Meier, and for a Weekend Reading feature about evolution and revolution coupled with a EndWeekGame piece about out weekend gaming habits.

We also took Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light out for a Quick Look spin.

On Monday Bungie offered a screenshot in an official blog post which suggests that the company has already created downloadable content for Halo: Reach and is running it on its machines, bringing both more Gamerscore and another nine Achievements.

On the same day we found out about the PlayStation 3 from Sony being hacked through its own controller peripherals.

Tuesday was all dedicated to basketball, of the virtual variety, as Electronic Arts first announced that the newly renamed NBA Elite 11 will now be launched at some point in early 2011 while the more arcade NBA Jam is now a multiplatform release that is set to take the previous game's place on the October 5 launch slot.

On Wednesday we found out that first person shooter developers stand up for each other, with executives at Treyarch defending the way Medal of Honor handles the modern Afghanistan conflict.

At the same time Sony was rumored to have the PlayStation Portable 2 up and running, in the hands on game developers who might create games in time for the platform launch.

Thursday was dominated by 3DS news, with Nintendo saying that the company was set to arrive on February 26, 2011 in Japan complete with titles like Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil: Mercenaries.

On the same day Treyarch officially confirmed that they would be delivering Zombies, probably Communist, in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Friday was about the Cataclysm expansion to World of Warcraft, which was rumored to arrive in January based on Amazon pre order e-mails and about Kinect the motion tracking system that Microsoft insists will be bigger than any rival console.
