This week, we've seen quite a bit of announcements related to launch dates for high profile videogames set to come in the second half of the year. But for those looking for something to read, we also have a Weekend Reading piece about what comes after StarCraft II and an EndWeekGame featuring Splinter Cell and Neptune's Pride. And, speaking of Sam Fisher, we also have some diaries linked to the game.

Monday was the day when World of Warcraft arrived on the new iPad platform from Apple. Sure, for the moment, it's just one screenshot done using the Gaikai videogame streaming service but, make no mistake, this will be the way of the future. Meanwhile, Activision revealed just a bit of information related to the fresh Call of Duty: Black Ops coming on November 9.

Tuesday was the day when Blizzard offered up a clear launch date for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, saying that it would also distribute the real time strategy digitally after it arrives in stores. This just as a study revealed that the most widely expected game launch of the coming months is Halo: Reach set to arrive during the fall.

Wednesday saw Sony break a promise and announcing that the God of War series would be returning to the PlayStation Portable, with a game called Ghost of Sparta detailing how Kratos rose to godhood. Meanwhile, Konami showed off the range of changes it planned to make in the upcoming Pro Evolution Soccer 2011.

On Thursday, we found out that LucasArts set the launch date for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 on October 26, bringing fans another adventure starring Darth Vader’s apprentice Starkiller. This just as Ubisoft confirmed that the new Assassin's Creed episode would arrive in the fall, named Brotherhood, and introducing multiplayer to the series.

On Friday, Ubisoft announced that a sequel to Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. was also set to come during the fall and Activision, after showing off its financial results, said that it had some interesting plans for Call of Duty on the Korean and Chinese markets.
