This was the second week that gamers in the Western world were able to pick up the new PlayStation Vita handheld from Sony and we have a new review linked to the device, for the sometimes infuriating and always charming Everybody’s Golf.

We also have a Quick Look for the demo version of FIFA Street from EA Sports, which aims to take the familiar mechanics of the football simulation series to unfamiliar venues with more of a focus on tricks and dribbling, and one for Microsoft Flight.

We also deliver two long term series of article, a Game Diary for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, which is now winding down, and one linked to A House Divided, the expansion for the grand strategy title Victoria II.

Our Weekend Reading feature tackles two themes this week: how the complexity level of Diablo III will affect the final quality of the Blizzard made hack and slash and how the future is looking for Assassin’s Creed.

Our EndWeekGame article details our weekend preparing to play Mass Effect 3 by mopping up the last strands of content for the second game in the series.

And, as always, we have a selection of the most interesting news stories of the past seven days.

Monday the developers of Alan Wake cited Skyrim as a story based success while Gearbox offered more information on Borderlands 2 and the blade focus of the Assassin character.

Tuesday the development team at Danger Close offered the first real information on the upcoming Medal of Honor: Warfighter while a voice actor working on The Last of Us talked about how the experience will challenge action game tropes.

Wednesday the focus was on a new Baldur’s Gate site which might point the way to a new game BioWare, the old developers of that universe, talked about their new success, Mass Effect 3, and how it will handle conversations.

Thursday Maxis revealed the existence of Sim City 5 and a new engine to power it while the cover and details for Assassin’s Creed 3 leaked.

Friday more etails were leaked about Assassin’s Creed 3 while Todd Howard talked about how mods are better than DLC when it comes to Skyrim. Saturday we found out why The Witcher 2 took so long to bring to the Xbox 360 and how Valve plans to challenge console makers with the Steam Box.
