It has been the week of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the first person shooter from DICE and Electronic Arts, and we have a review up for the title just as the two companies have announced that more than 2.3 million units of the game have been sold. Of course, we also serve our regular features, Weekend Reading dealing with a move to the American Civil War for the Total War series and EndWeekGame talking about the R.U.S.E. open beta. And in case you need more to read through, you can check out the Napoleon: Total War diary. And here are the pieces of news for the past seven days.

On Monday, the Stimulus Pack for Modern Warfare 2, set to arrive on March 30, was detailed as having three whole new maps and two rebuilt from the first Modern Warfare. Speaking of new content, we also found out that Mass Effect 2 would be getting a new thief-like character in April, with Kasumi joining the space bound Suicide Squad.

On Tuesday, it was all about Nintendo, as more details were offered on the potential successor for the Nintendo DS, which might be unveiled this year and be as powerful as the GameCube. The company’s United States leader also talked about the impending launch of the Project Natal and PlayStation Move motion tracking controllers.

On Wednesday, we found out that Electronic Arts was launching the beta stage of the Need for Speed World MMO, while undisclosed publishing industry sources were saying that Gears of War 3 was being prepared for a release date of April 2011.

On Thursday, a statement from the head of Sony opened the door to MichaelJackson starring in videogames, probably something along the lines of SingStar, while DICE launched a patch for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which some users reported to have broken more than it fixed.

On Friday, we learned that Episodes from Liberty City for GTA IV was set to get a two-week delay for the PS3 and PC, while a bunch of photos taken from a Chinese board might show the first glimpse at the Xbox 360 Slim.
