We're relaxing a little after the week of the E3 trade show but that does not mean there is no videogaming-related news to report. We managed to think up an EndWeekGame piece, featuring an iPhone, Singularity and Hearts of Iron 3, and a Weekend Reading piece, focused on how three-dimensional gaming is not actually what gamers want, and we also have a Red Dead Redemption-focused game diary. Here are the most important pieces of news of the past seven days.

On Monday, BioWare revealed that the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO would be the perfect venue to conclude the stories of well known characters from the Knights of the Old Republic series, like the Exile, Revan and Malak. The same day provided Nintendo with the perfect moment to announce that the 3DS would get enhanced ports of NES and SNES titles.

Tuesday was the day when the developers of Final Fantasy XIV, the upcoming MMO of the franchise, revealed that their game would not be arriving on the Xbox 360 home console from Microsoft, with only those gaming on the PC and the PlayStation 3 set to experience it. Meanwhile, Microsoft said that the PC launch of Fable III represents the first step of a new push for that gaming market.

On Wednesday, Treyarch, the creators of the next game in the Call of Duty series, talked about gratuitous moments, saying there were no plans to put something like “No Russian” in Black Ops. This just as SEGA talked about how the fresh Sonic 4 would be the one to rebuild the reputation of the long running franchise.

On Thursday, World of Warcraft, the MMO from Blizzard, received a new patch, 3.3.5, which enables cross party chat using Battle.net working with Starcraft II once the real time strategy game is launched in July. On the same day, Nintendo trumpeted that more core titles from a variety of developers would be launched on the new 3DS handheld.

On Friday, Miley Cyrus revealed that she geberally uses Rock Band to practice before her shows, while development was confirmed as still going on for Beyond Good and Evil 2.
