Metal Gear speculation

This week, I've replayed a lot of Knights of the Old Republic, trying to point out what makes it a great game even almost 6 years since its initial release. But this space is for news, so let's see what we've written about these days.

On Monday, Konami entered the teasing ring offering a countdown to something that might be either Metal Gear Solid or Metal Gear S. Apparently, more will be revealed at E3, including a main protagonist who might be Raiden. Meanwhile, tickets to this year's BlizzCon get together disappeared in a few seconds and then popped up for sale on Ebay.

Next day, we found out that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was still a commercial flop, which means that the DS is still not ready for real mature audiences. The fact that Rockstar used Twitter to advertise the upcoming second DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV is a sign that game journalism can be replaced by a lot of tweet reading.

On Wednesday, Bethesda announced that, as rumored, two more pieces of DLC, called Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta, would be coming to Fallout 3, along with the already announced Fallout: New Vegas, which is created by Obsidian, and a Game of the Year Edition of Fallout. This means that a third play through of the RPG is in order on my part. And, a secret that everybody knew, the development team finally confirmed that fact that Call of Duty 7 was in development.

Thursday saw Warner Bros. announce the first Lord of the Rings game it would release, called Aragorn's Quest, while Need For Speed Nitro, the new racing title coming to the Nintendo Wii and DS, received its first screenshots and some more information.

On Friday, we talked about the Aliens vs. Predator videogame, which could be a great way of getting Rebellion its groove back. Also, we saw the first image of the Big Daddy prototype we would all get to play in BioShock 2.

And if you can't get enough videogame content, check out a Weekend Reading piece that praises the insanity of SHODAN and a first look at the Call of Juarez sequel, called Bound in Blood, which features pretty impressive stampedes.
