When
Nintendo president
Satoru Iwata held a conference to talk about company issues and outline for the current fiscal year, the
Japan-hosted event revealed an amazing 124 Nintendo titles prepping to hit the two most beloved consoles in the world: the Wii and the sales record holder for handheld gaming systems, the DS.
When the word was out that 45 Wii titles and 79
DS titles were about to be announced, the world blew up in flames. Such a big lineup needed at least a 2007 title list to back it up and before we knew it, it arrived. Here's what Nintendo has in mind for Wii fans this year, as posted on IGN:
Donkey Kong Taru Jet Race (DK Jet or DK Bongo Blast, US) - June 28, 2007
Wii Health Pack -- 2007
Disaster: Day of Crisis - 2007
Mario Party 8 - 2007
Project H.A.M.M.E.R. - 2007
Wii Music - 2007
Super Mario Galaxy - 2007
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - 2007
Battalion Wars II - 2007
Forever Blue - 2007
Mario Strikers Charged - 2007
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - 2007
Mario and Sonic at the Olympics - 2007
Scrolling down through the list (with my eyes that is), I began to lose faith that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was even among the 13 "lucky" titles to hit the platform this year, but my heart settled down seeing the last but one. Yes, Corruption is scheduled for a 2007 release. It's the only reason for which I'd consider getting myself a Wii, yet this arsenal of Nintendo games has been announced solely for Japan. And the rest of the world goes aaaoooo!
