The PlayStation 3 still has quite a rough road ahead, having to compete with powerful adversaries Xbox 360 and Wii, but that doesn't stop peripheral making companies such as dreamGEAR from rolling out a new controller for it. The company's latest addition is the LavaGlow Wireless controller for PS3, featuring an ergonomic design with "lava-liquid" filled handles and glowing internal LED lights.

dreamGEAR
says: This liquid filled, glowing, 2.4 GHz wireless controller is custom designed to be the most comfortable controller ever created. It has the latest 2.4 GHz technology, motion sensing gyroscopes, providing you with complete latency free game play!

According to the makers of this new controller for Sony's PS3, the wireless controller combines the latest in wireless Radio Frequency and auto-scan technologies with touch-sensitive analog buttons to offer high-quality latency-free wireless gaming. As for the liquid-filled handgrips, they have been confirmed to be "extremely comfortable", while the LED lights can be turned off or on to enhance game play.

"Particularly with the rumors of Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc.'s (SCEA) upcoming holiday launch of the new 40GB PS3, lower-priced than previous PS3 models, the LavaGlow Wireless is an ideal controller for tech-savvy and price-conscious gamers," says dreamGEAR co-founder Richard Weston. "As an industry leader in PS3 accessories, we are thrilled to light up the gaming experience like never before and give gamers a wireless controller option as exciting as the games they play."

Just so we touch every aspect regarding the LavaGlow Wireless controller for the PS3, dreamGEAR has also confirmed that you'll only be needing 3 AAA batteries to power up the peripheral, so if you have a bunch of rechargeable ones around, there's no reason why you shouldn't get this one as your secondary PS3 controller.

The LavaGlow is available in red or blue, retailing for $34.99. However, even if you don't own a PS3 you can still check out dreamGEAR's official website right here. They've got tons of stuff for every console.
