14 DAY TRIAL // Lenovo-backed company ZUK is about to launch another Android smartphone in the next few weeks. Dubbed Z2 Pro, the device is meant to be ZUK’s new flagship handset, which is why we expect it to include top-of-the-line specs.
Chang Cheng, CEO of ZUK, has recently confirmed that his company plans to launch the Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro on April 21, GizmoChina reports. Although the company’s official has not offered details about ZUK 2 Pro, the smartphone has leaked recently in AnTuTu, so we already know quite a bit of information.
First of all, the device will come equipped with a powerful 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, coupled with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and either 3GB or 4GB of RAM.
According to a screenshot from AnTuTu, ZUK Z2 Pro packs 32GB of internal memory, but there’s no mention of microSD card slot at this time.
Android Marshmallow and fingerprint scanner
The good news is the flagship will ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box, which is quite new for a ZUK smartphone.
Another piece of information revealed by AnTuTu is the fact that ZUK Z2 Pro will feature a 13-megapixel camera on the back side, as well as a secondary 8-megapixel photo snapper on the front, which should be perfect for selfies and video calls.
We don’t know the size of the phone’s display, but we do know ZUK Z2 Pro supports full HD (1080p) resolution, which might be disappointing for some.
Since ZUK’s previous flagship also included a fingerprint scanner and 64GB of storage, it’s possible that the upcoming model will pack similar features as well.
It’s also worth mentioning that ZUK Z2 Pro is expected to cost a little above $300 outright, but the information has yet to be confirmed by the company. Keep in mind that the smartphone is likely to be launched in China and India, but other countries in the region might get the ZUK Z2 Pro too.
