Lenovo-backed ZUK Z1 launch seems to have been delayed by a few weeks. We reported last week that the Chinese company confirmed on its Weibo account that the ZUK Z1 will be officially unveiled on July 21.

Fast forward a few days and ZUK has changed the launch date of the Z1 for August 8, GizmoChina reports. The reasons behind this delay is unknown, but let's hope the smartphone's unveiling won't be postponed any further.

ZUK has been teasing its Z1 flagship smartphone for quite some time now. The Chinese company has already revealed some of the strong points of the Z1, including the processor inside and the amount of RAM.

The Z1 will be equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

ZUK's high-end device will be one of the few Android smartphones to pack USB Type-C port. In addition, the handset has been confirmed to be powered by a large 4,000 mAh battery which should provide quite a lot of continuous usage time.

CyanogenOS and fingerprint scanner

The Chinese company also mentioned something about CyanogenOS, so we won't be surprised if the ZUK Z1 will run this customized operating system.

A fingerprint scanner will be implemented as well, along with Touch ID function which is said to be much speedier than iPhone's.

Unfortunately, we know nothing about Z1's pricing options, though we do know the smartphone is likely to come in two versions: 32GB and 64GB. This reduces the chance for the ZUK Z1 to come packed with microSD card slot for memory expansion.

Last but not least, ZUK has already confirmed it has teamed up with major e-commerce site JD.com for the distribution of Z1, so we expect the smartphone to go on sale at this retailer next month.
