As expected, Lenovo-backed ZUK Z1 has just made its debut in Europe. The smartphone has been initially introduced in China with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system onboard.

However, the international version of ZUK Z1 comes with Cyanogen OS 12.1 right of the box. The smartphone is now available for purchase via different online retailers for only €300 outright.

Beside the promotional price, the Chinese company also promised customers who purchase the Z1 free two-year warranty as a bonus.

This bonus is only offered during flash sales of the ZUK Z1, which are currently happening in various European countries including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.

Even though the smartphone comes with Cyanogen 12.1 OS onboard, ZUK Z1 is expected to receive a major update to Cyanogen 13 OS sometime next year.

A timeframe for the release of Cyanogen 13 OS has yet to be confirmed

The Cyanogen team has already started working at the upgrade, but it won't be ready until next year. In the same piece of news, ZUK's officials confirmed the Chinese version of Z1 would receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update sometime in March 2016.

Moving on to specs, the ZUK Z1 comes with pretty interesting hardware, though overall it's kind of a mixed bag.

For example, the smartphone has been confirmed to pack a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, which is rather old by today's standards.

On a more positive note, the Z1 is equipped with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. It also offers both 4G LTE and dual-SIM support with dual standby.

The Z1 is powered by a high-capacity 4,100 mAh battery and features a decent 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with Sony sensor, autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), LED flash and video recording.

It also comes with USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor and an impressive 8-megapixel camera in the front for great selfies and video calls.

Last but not least, ZUK Z1 sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.
