14 DAY TRIAL // As expected, Lenovo's wholly-owned Chinese company ZUK has just unveiled its next flagship smartphone, the Edge. Despite its name, ZUK Edge does not actually feature a dual-edge curved display like the Galaxy S7 edge or other smartphones that adopted this technology.
However, ZUK's display is quite impressive in the fact that the Chinese company has managed to remove the bezels on the left and right almost completely. It does look very similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix, but it's much smaller in size.
The ZUK Edge sports a 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. According to ZUK, the phone's panel offers 1500:1 contrast ratio and 85% NTSC color coverage. But that's not all, as the Edge screen features 86.4% screen-to-body ratio and bezels of just 1.63mm on the left and right sides.
Although the phone comes with a physical Home button, ZUK Edge's U-Touch fingerprint sensor has been positioned under the glass panel, so users can unlock the phone in just 0.09 second, Lenovo claims.
And things get even better, as ZUK Edge packs a powerful 2.35GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, coupled with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit, 64GB of internal memory, and either 4GB or 6GB of RAM.
The 13-megapixel rear-facing camera on the back side features a Samsung ISOCELL sensor of 1.34-pixel capacity. The main camera comes with additional functions like phase detection autofocus (PDAF), f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and 4K video recording.
It's also worth mentioning that ZUK Edge comes with a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front that features a 1.12-pixel sensor and f/2.2 aperture.
ZUK Edge offers dual-SIM and VoLTE support, as well as Dirac HD Sound for Hi-Fi audio. It's powered by a 3,100 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
Another major feature is Android 7.0 Nougat, which comes on board, alongside ZUK's ZUI 2.5 user interface. Both USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio jack ports have been included.
ZUK Edge is available in China in both Ceramic White and Titanium Black for $330 (4GB RAM) and $360 (6GB RAM), respectively.
