ZTE is probably the number one seller of cheap smartphones in the United States. Well, if not number one, at least it's certainly in top three.

The Chinese company collaborates with just about all carriers in the country, so it doesn't matter which one you prefer, you'll always find a ZTE smartphone available for purchase at your favorite carrier.

The newest smartphone launched by ZTE in the U.S. is the Grand X 4. The handset will be available for purchase at Cricket Wireless for just $129.99, starting November 18.

Although in other countries you'll probably find many Android smartphones selling for less than $100, even though they have better specs, the ZTE Grand X 4 does seem a good deal for a market like the U.S.

According to ZTE, its mid-range Grand X 4 smartphone is equipped with a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, complemented by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card).

A worthy upgrade for ZTE Grand X 3 owners

The Chinese company hasn't yet listed the phone on its US website,as the press statement points to a non-existent link. Hopefully, potential customers will be able to find out more about the Grand X 4 as soon as ZTE provides a valid link.

Until then, we can confirm the smartphone sports a 5.5-inch display that supports HD (720p) resolution. One of the phone's highlights is the 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

In the front, ZTE's mid-range handset packs a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies, while under the hood there's a 3,140 mAh battery. The phone comes with a USB Type-C port in tow and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

For those who already own the ZTE Grand X 3, the sequel looks like a solid upgrade, so if you want to remain loyal to this brand, you can go ahead and upgrade to the Grand X 4.
