Chinese handset maker ZTE has just announced a new mid-range Android smartphone, the Blade S7. Unlike many of the company's handsets aimed at the mid-range tier, the ZTE Blade S7 actually looks pretty nice.

In fact, ZTE claims that the Blade S7 is an “affordable premium” smartphone, and judging by the press images published earlier today, the company does seem to be correct when it comes to design.

Unfortunately, not many will be able to get the ZTE Blade S7 too soon since the smartphone will be initially introduced in Thailand in the next couple of weeks. It will be available in four color variants: Lemon Green, Rose Gold, Diamond White and Space Gray.

According to ZTE, the Blade S7 will be available for purchase in several markets across the Asia Pacific, but a global rollout hasn't been announced for the moment.

A great-looking phone with more than decent specs

Anyway, the main selling point of the Blade S7 is the 13-megapixel front-facing camera, which is why it targets selfie lovers. The shooter comes with a front flash and phase detection autofocus, as well as functions for panorama shots and 14 different beautification options.

On the back, ZTE Blade S7 packs a similar 13-megapixel camera that features various shooting modes, selective focus, and laser autofocus for fast and accurate shooting in low-light conditions.

Hardware-wise, Blade S7 includes a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory.

ZTE Blade S7 boasts a 5-inch Super Retina display with full HD (1080p) resolution. It features an aluminum alloy frame with thin bezels, and it's protected with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 on both front and back.

The smartphone ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with ZTE's MiFavor 3.2 UI.

“We are delighted to confirm the availability of the ZTE Blade S7, a device packed with a range of fun and innovative features. ZTE is constantly listening to its customers, and we wanted to deliver a device that takes the selfie experience to a new level,” said Jacky Zhang, CEO of Asia Pacific, ZTE Mobile Devices.
