We reported yesterday that ZTE confirmed the Axon Mini would be available for purchase in China starting this week, while the rest of the world would get it in the coming weeks.

However, it looks like the Chinese company announced one more high-end Android smartphone during Axon Mini's launch event.

According to a new report, the handset maker confirmed the rumored ZTE Axon Max was a real device. Moreover, ZTE announced the Axon Max would be making its debut on the market before the year ends.

That could mean next week or next month, but the important thing is Android fans will now have another choice at their disposal, one that comes with really high-end features.

Let's just hope the ZTE Axon Max will be priced lower than other flagship smartphones available on the market, since that will make it more competitive.

No word on pricing and availability yet

Anyway, if you're interested in ZTE flagship devices, then you will be pleased to know that Axon Max is a real beast.

The handset is said to boast a huge 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

In addition, the smartphone will be equipped with a powerful 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and no less than 4GB of RAM.

On the back, the smartphone will pack a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording. The Axon Max will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and will feature fingerprint sensor, eye scanner, and Hi-Fi sound recording features.

Also, it will come with voice control feature, dual microphones and the same design and form factor as its smaller sibling, the Axon Mini.

Apparently, ZTE will further include several Exclusive and VIP packages with the device, but no additional details have been leaked yet, so stay tuned for more on this one.
