Did you bought an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus smartphone today? Well, we have some good news for you if you're a Netflix fan, as it's now possible to watch your favorite movies and TV shows in Dolby Vision HDR.

OK, so what's that Dolby Vision or HDR you're talking about? Well, let us tell you that Dolby Vision it's a variant of HDR (High Dynamic Range), and both are cutting-edge technologies used by various service providers to offer you content in a more dramatic color palette and contrast range.

We're pretty sure you've seen HDR images before, so the Dolby Vision and UltraHD Premium (HDR) technologies work pretty much the same on video streams, and Netflix is among the first to offer its customers the two streaming formats for supported TVs, tablets or smartphones.

You can now watch HDR movies on iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

Netflix has recently updated their Help Center with information regarding the features available for iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch devices, and it looks like they added Dolby Vision HDR (High Dynamic Range) support for Apple's recently launched iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus smartphones.

In addition to the iPhone 8 lineup, you can also enjoy Dolby Vision content on 2nd generation iPad Pro tablets, as well as the upcoming 10th anniversary iPhone X. Of course, all these devices must be running iOS 11 or later and you also need to have the latest Netflix app installed from the App Store.

Unfortunately, not all shows and films on Netflix have Dolby Vision or HDR support, so you need to make sure the selected programme supports these cutting-edge technologies before starting to watch them.
