Facebook has recently started rolling out a privacy alert to those affected by the whole Cambridge Analytica fiasco, notifying them if their personal information was shared with the political analysis firm, explaining to them how they're affected.

Facebook admitted last month that more than 87 million users worldwide were affected by the Cambridge Analytica scandal, as they privacy was violated by the political analysis firm through their app called "This Is Your Digital Life," which practically stole your personal information due to a privacy issue with Facebook.

Facebook recently took measures to restrict the way third-party apps use its social network, but it may already gave your personal data to Cambridge Analytica, so that's why you're now seeing a new privacy warning on top of your News Feed with instructions on how to better protect your information in the future.

Here's how to check if your data was shared with Cambridge Analytica

While Facebook is currently rolling out the privacy alter to users worldwide, some of you out there may have received it, but many probably didn't, so you there's now a way to manually check right now if Facebook shared your data with Cambridge Analytica via the "This Is Your Digital Life" app or not.

To do that, access Facebook's "How can I tell if my info was shared with Cambridge Analytica?" support page, log in with your Facebook account if you're not already logged in, and you'll immediately see if your privacy was violated or not. The support page also informs you if any of your friends logged into "This Is Your Digital Life."

If your Facebook information was shared with Cambridge Analytica by "This Is Your Digital Life," you should follow the instructions provided on the support page to see how you're affected. No matter if you were affected or not by the Cambridge Analytica fiasco, you should revise the apps you are connected to with your Facebook account.
