In addition to the all-new Xiaomi 12 Series, the Chinese tech company has also taken the wraps off the Xiaomi Watch S1, a new smartwatch that packs an impressive array of features at a really low price.

The new smartwatch comes with a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, and the more surprising detail is that it even boasts sapphire glass for extra durability. The device sports a classic round watch appearance, with two side buttons and touch input support for easy browsing.

Xiaomi hasn’t talked too much about its new smartwatch during today’s press conference, though this device is very likely to record pretty high sales given its price tag.

In China, the Xiaomi Watch S1 can be had for just 1,099 yuan, which at today’s currency conversion rates means it costs less than $175.

That’s impressive, there’s no doubt about it, especially when looking at its features. The device features everything you’d expect on a new-gen smartwatch, including NFC for contactless payments, Bluetooth, dual-frequency GNSS positioning, sleep tracking, SpO2 monitoring, and a heart rate sensor.

Needless to say, it also packs the full smartwatch feature package, so it can alert of incoming calls, let you read messages, see notifications, and everything else.

But at the same time, it also comes with a health focus, so it supports no less than 117 sport modes. It offers 5 ATM water resistance, so in theory, it’s perfectly suitable for swimming as well.

The Xiaomi Watch S1 is backed by a 470 mAh battery, and the parent company says this will offer around 12 days of life per charge. However, the device also packs a standby mode that can provide up to 24 days of life per charge.

As said, the Xiaomi Watch S1 will originally launch in China, and at this point, there are no specifics as to whether the company also plans to bring it elsewhere or not.
