Xiaomi announced the Mi MIX smartphone back in October last year, during an event in Beijing, but the phone has only been available in China until now. Xiaomi will make the Mi Mix available in the UAE in March for the price of about $816.50.

The smartphone will apparently be offered by online and retail outlets Etisalat and Carrefour. Xiaomi also listed the smartphone as “coming soon” on its official website for the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.

The countries in the region will get the Mi MIX soon, but it’s unknown if the phone will be made available in bigger markets like Europe and the US. Xiaomi Mi MIX offers a very attractive design with edgeless display and a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio.

Xiaomi Mi MIX II might have a 93% screen-to-body ratio

Xiaomi already announced that it started working on a successor to the Mi MIX, one that would have a smaller screen-to-body ratio. The company is reportedly working towards bringing an original and groundbreaking design to its successor, and pushing towards a very large display and small bezels.

The original Xiaomi Mi MIX features a ceramic body and a speaker placed below the glass, which emitted vibrations so that users could listen to calls. The smartphone runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, clocked at 2.35GHz and 4GB of RAM, aside from 128GB of internal storage.

The Pro variant of Xiaomi Mi MIX had a 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone draws power from a 4,400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and comes with a 16MP camera with PDAF support, f/2.2 aperture and dual-LED. Front camera capacity is 5MP, while the phone has USB Type-C port and is made available in Black and White color variants. Display size is 6.4 inches and the Mi MIX has a pixel resolution of 1080 x 2040.
