Although Xiaomi did not share any details on the Redmi 3's international availability, at least one Chinese retailer is now taking pre-orders for the smartphone.
Potential customers can now pre-order the Xiaomi Redmi 3 16GB for just $160 via GearBest. Also, the Chinese retailer will have the Xiaomi Redmi 3 64GB model available for pre-order very soon for around $190.
For the time being, you can register your email address to be notified when the Redmi 3 64GB model arrives in stock, or you when the pre-orders kick off.

The Redmi 3 ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. The smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

Hardware-wise, Xiaomi has decided to include a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor inside, coupled with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.
Also, the mid-range Android smartphone packs either 16GB or 64GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
There's also a 13-megapixel snapper on the back, which features phase detection autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera in the front.
Xiaomi Redmi 3 comes with 4G LTE and dual-SIM support, and it's powered by a massive 4,100 mAh battery. Other highlights of the phone include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.
